Crazy doodles and stuff.
These are four pages taken from an early portfolio of mine that focus on my abilities as a character designer. The one drawing with the small boy on a rocking horse is my son Banyan who was celebrating his 1st Birthday. And this was the design for the invitations as well as the top of his Birthday cake.
His Mother calls him "Bandy Bandy Banyan" and he rides his horse named Paint.

"Phineas and Ferb" Title design
When I was on "Phineas and Ferb, I was asked by creator Dan Povenmire to work on the titles for his new show. I was pleased that most of the ideas that I came up with stayed in the main show opening. I also did a pass on a separate title for a Secret Agent Perry opening.

Banjo Pig
This is a illustration that I posted on "Dueling Banjo Pigs"
Blogspot. It is a blog where they encourage artists to post
their interpretation of a pig playing a banjo. It is a very fun site and great place for inspiration.

"Carrotblanca"
During a production I would either make a crew shirt or a jacket to give out to as gifts. This is art work that I created for a t-shirt for "Carrotblanca", a Warner Bros. Animated short that I Directed in 1995.

"Hook and Pan"
While working on the first Tinkerbell movie at Disney Toons Studio, I would doodle with my newly found joy for Photoshop. This illustration is using the classic characters and casting them in the roles of Slash and Axel Rose of Guns and Roses. I was discovering the use of the smudge tool for the smoke effect.

"Looney Tunes Show" - Paris Montage
On "The Looney Tune Show" I was storyboarding on a episode called "Eligible Bachelors" where I was to board Bugs falling in love with Lola Bunny while on a day trip to Paris. I decided to make it a montage out of six paintings depicting a day of amore in the City of Light. First panel has the two at a sidewalk cafe much like Les Deux Magots, in the painting is a likeness of my wife and myself at the table by Bugs and Lola. Second panel has our lovebirds driving down the Champs-Elysees on a Vespa with the Arc De Triomphe in the background. The third panel has Bugs and Lola doing the Can Can at the world famous Moulin Rouge, with a homage to the great Toulouse Lautrec's posters. The fourth panel has our beloved bunnies having fun with a Mime at the Jardin Des Tuileries while a young boy sails his toy sail boat in the fountain. The fifth depicts Lola and Bugs leisurely visiting the book sellers along the left bank in search of treasures. And lastly, Bugs presenting Lola with a bouquet of flowers that he purchased from a flower merchant near The Sacre Coeur. These panels then would be paintings that would be created in a impressionistic way by Jesse Silver and Art Directed by John Calmette of Warner Bros Animation.

Panels 1, 2, 3 and 5 are high res.

"Eight Crazy Nights" - Theatrical Sequence
I was a Sequence Director on Adam Sandler's "Eight Crazy Nights". In this sequence Whitey is given Davey a ride home and reveals that he shoplifted some candy from the Mall. This is one
of the first sequences to go into animation.
of the first sequences to go into animation.
"The Proud Family"
I had the priviledge to Direct on Bruce Smith's "The Proud Family" as well as get an opportunity to storyboard. In this episode Michael grows to become a giant and goes to the school dance to seek revenge on Tookie, who has been harassing him. With homage to the film "Carrie" we do split panels and quick cuts to give the sequence a horror feeling.
Original Illustrated Holiday Cards
The text read "Would you like some Christmas Punch?"
This is a sample collection of original illustrated Holiday cards that I have been doing annually since 1975.
The illustration of the Gingerbread couple pulling out a Gingerbread boy from the oven represents the birth of our first child Finnegan.
The greeting for the Santa on the couch read "I keep making lists and checking them twice ... is that compulsive, Doc?
The design with Santa with the guitar is my tribute to ZZ Top and inside was the complete lyrics to "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree".
